Zagah-Suntai Highway Reopens After Flooding Washes Away Road Sections

The Zagah-Suntai main highway in Taraba State has been reopened to traffic less than 48 hours after heavy rainfall caused severe flooding that washed away sections of the road.

The road, which connects Bali Local Government Area with Suntai and surrounding communities, was rendered impassable, leaving some commercial vehicles stranded.

Following the incident, the management of CRCC Construction Company Limited moved swiftly to restore the damaged section and ease the hardship faced by motorists and residents.

Upon receiving reports of the damage, the company immediately coordinated with local community leaders and the Bali Local Government Administration to assess the situation and develop an emergency response plan.

Heavy-duty equipment and skilled personnel were mobilised to the affected area, where an emergency access route was first created to facilitate restoration work.

The team then commenced loading, haulage and backfilling operations, working round the clock to restore the washed-out section.

Within two days, the road was fully compacted and stabilised, allowing traffic to resume along the important route.

Local government authorities and community leaders have commended CRCC Construction Company Limited for its swift and proactive intervention.

The company says its response reflects its commitment to supporting host communities, stressing that infrastructure is not only about delivering projects but also about connecting people and standing with communities in times of need.

The intervention is being described as another demonstration of CRCC’s corporate social responsibility and commitment to the wellbeing of the communities where it operates.
