Bandits Reportedly Kill Abducted Victim, Send Head To Katsina Emirate » Apples Bite Int’l Magazine

Bandits operating in Katsina State have reportedly killed one of more than 100 people abducted in the state and allegedly sent his severed head to the Shadadi Emirate.
The development was disclosed on Friday by Katsina-based commentator Bakatsine in a post on X.
According to the commentator, the victim was among the residents being held captive by the bandits before he was reportedly killed. His identity has not been made public.
Bakatsine described the incident as disturbing, expressing concern over the fate of other victims still in captivity.
The commentator also called on security agencies and the government to take urgent action to rescue those being held by the bandits and prevent further killings.
However, the report could not be independently verified at the time of filing.
Terrorists Demand ₦50m, Animals From Zamfara Residents
Meanwhile, terrorists in Zamfara State have reportedly issued a fresh ultimatum to residents of a community in Talata Mafara Local Government Area.
The terrorists allegedly stormed an open market in the area and gave residents seven days to provide ₦50 million, 50 cattle and 50 sheep.
Residents who spoke about the development reportedly blamed the situation on what they described as inadequate security measures and the failure of authorities to stop repeated attacks in the area.
One resident alleged that the terrorists had previously taken over farmlands and rustled livestock belonging to villagers without facing strong resistance from security agencies.
Another resident said the latest demand showed how emboldened the terrorists had become.
According to the residents, repeated attacks and the lack of a decisive security response have increased fear within the affected communities.
The latest incident has further raised concerns about the worsening security situation in parts of Katsina and Zamfara states, particularly the continued abduction of residents and attacks on rural communities.
