AFCON 2027Q: Super Eagles step up preparations, depart for Bissau Sunday
The Super Eagles will return to training on Sunday morning as preparations continue for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash with Guinea-Bissau.
Head coach, Éric Chelle and his players are scheduled to have a closed-door session at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, according to the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe.
The squad is expected to arrive at Victor Attah International Airport at 2 p.m. before departing for Bissau an hour later.
The session comes after the Super Eagles held a recovery workout on Saturday night, following their 2-1 victory over Madagascar’s Barea.
Nigeria will face Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau. The match is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. Nigerian time.
Guinea-Bissau currently sit top of Group L on goal difference, ahead of Nigeria, who are second on the log.
