Troops Destroy Suspected ISWAP Hideout In Yobe Offensive

Troops of Sector 2 under Operation HADIN KAI have destroyed several suspected ISWAP hideouts and logistics bases during ongoing clearance operations in Yobe State, military sources said.

The operation is targeting suspected insurgents who fled the Lake Chad Islands and the Timbuktu Triangle and are believed to have taken refuge in communities in Gujba Local Government Area.

According to security sources, troops discovered and destroyed multiple camps and other structures allegedly used by the insurgents to support their operations.

The sources said clearance operations are currently concentrated around Mahdiyya, Lagarawa, Lamusheri, Ngarbai and Wulle, where troops are conducting systematic sweeps to flush out remaining fighters and deny them freedom of movement.

“The offensive remains ongoing as troops continue aggressive pursuit operations and consolidate on the gains already recorded,” a military source said.

The Nigerian military has continued sustained operations under Operation HADIN KAI to dismantle insurgent networks across the North-East.
