Sowore Accuses DSS – The Trumpet Newspaper Nigeria

Human rights activist and presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of placing an electronic tracking device on a security vehicle used by his team during his visit to Rivers State.
Sowore made the allegation after attending the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) annual general conference in Port Harcourt.
In a post shared on X , the activist claimed that he noticed what he described as suspicious movements after delivering a speech at a Kay Hikers gathering.
According to Sowore, the unusual activity prompted his team to switch vehicles, leading to the discovery of an electronic tracking device underneath the security vehicle they had been using.
He alleged that the device was planted to monitor his movements while he was in the state.

“After my speech at the Kay Hikers gathering, we noticed some strange movements and decided to switch vehicles.
“That was when we discovered an electronic tracking device attached underneath the security vehicle we had used that night. They are really scared,” he added.
Sowore did not provide further details about the alleged device or present evidence identifying who installed it.
The DSS had not publicly responded to the allegation as of the time of filing this report.
The allegation comes amid Sowore’s continued criticism of government institutions and security agencies, which he has repeatedly accused of attempting to monitor or intimidate him.
