The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the deployment of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Auwal Musa Mohammed as the new Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, alongside the posting of eight Commissioners of Police to various state commands.

The commission said the postings were aimed at addressing operational needs following the promotion of former commissioners of police in the affected commands.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the Head of Protocol and Public Relations of the PSC, Torty Njoku Kalu.

According to the statement, AIG Auwal, who has over 33 years of policing experience, has served in operations, investigations, intelligence-led policing and police training.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Bayero University, Kano, and has previously served as Commandant of the Police College, Maiduguri, Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, and Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zones 3 and 6.

The PSC also announced the deployment of CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo to Abia State, CP Ayodeji Faniyan to Plateau State, CP Saka Adewale Ajao to Bayelsa State, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to Cross River State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama to Anambra State, CP Patrick Daaor to Edo State, CP Tijani Murtala to Jigawa State, and CP Samuel Erale Etaifo to Delta State.

Speaking during the commission’s meeting, the member who presided over the session, Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (JSC, rtd), charged the newly deployed senior officers to discharge their responsibilities professionally.

According to him, the officers should “stand firm, uphold the rule of law, and remain neutral and diligent.”

The meeting was attended by other members of the commission, including Alhaji Abdulfatah Mohammed, Hon. Justice Christine Ladi Dabup (rtd), and the Secretary to the Commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani.

The PSC said the deployments form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership across state police commands and enhance operational effectiveness within the Nigeria Police Force.
