Peller Threatens Legal Action – The Trumpet Newspaper Nigeria

Nigerian content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has threatened legal action on a self-acclaimed ‘babalawo’ that he used spiritual powers to help him achieve fame.

The controversy began after the native doctor claimed that Peller once visited his shrine, cried and pleaded for assistance before his career took off.

He further alleged that the content creator later became successful but failed to honour an agreement between them.

Peller, however, has dismissed the allegations, describing them as an attempt to gain attention and exploit the situation for personal benefit.

In a video making the rounds online, Peller warned the ‘babalawo’ to stop making the claims, alleging that the man could face legal consequences over his statements.

“The man claiming he did juju for me to blow should keep running. Police will still catch you,” Peller said.

The TikTok star alleged that the ‘babalawo’ initially presented the story as entertainment content but changed his approach after discovering that many social media users were beginning to believe the claims.

Peller also claimed that the man’s social media following increased significantly following the controversy.

According to him, the ‘babalawo’s TikTok account allegedly grew from about 4,000 followers to 65,000 followers after the claims went viral.

“The page had 4,000 followers on TikTok, now it has 65,000 followers. He has changed his page to look like a real juju man page,” Peller alleged.

The content creator further accused the man of allegedly taking advantage of the attention by collecting money from people who believed his spiritual claims.

“He’s now scamming people. He’s collecting people’s money. That man will rot in jail,” Peller alleged.

Peller also maintained that he would not withdraw any potential legal action against the ‘babalawo’, even if the man’s relatives approached him to seek forgiveness.

“His family will beg for mercy and say, ‘Help us beg Peller to drop the case.’ I won’t listen,” he said.

The social media personality expressed concern that some Nigerians were taking the ‘babalawo’s claims seriously and were reportedly showing interest in seeking his services.

Reacting to comments from social media users debating whether the ‘babalawo’ actually played a role in his rise to fame, Peller questioned why people were still entertaining such claims.

“See what people are talking. Una never still wise for 2026?” he said.

The controversy has since generated reactions online, with social media users divided over the ‘babalawo’s’ allegations and Peller’s response.
