Osun Election: Voters Await Officials, Materials At Osogbo Polling Unit

Prospective voters turned up early at Gulf Junction, Ogo Oluwa Ward 4, Unit 2, in Osogbo, Osun State, on Saturday, August 15, 2026, as they awaited the arrival of electoral officials and voting materials for the governorship election.
Voters were reportedly at the polling unit as early as 7:13 a.m., ahead of the scheduled commencement of accreditation and voting.
The early presence of voters underscored the interest surrounding the election, with residents preparing to exercise their right to choose the next governor of the state.

However, at the time of the report, voters were still waiting for electoral officials and the materials needed to commence the voting process.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged voters and other stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully and comply with established electoral procedures throughout the exercise.
Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking a second term, with major challengers including the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam.
As voting progresses across Osun State, stakeholders are expected to maintain peace and ensure that the electoral process is conducted without intimidation, violence or disruption.
