Osun 2026: ADC’s Salaam Alleges Agents Blocked From Polling Units in 10 LGs

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in the Osun State, Najeem Salaam, has raised concerns over the alleged non-recognition of his party’s agents at polling units across several local government areas of the state.

Salaam made the allegation on Saturday after arriving at his polling unit to cast his ballot, saying he had received reports that ADC agents were being denied recognition despite the party having uploaded their names ahead of the election.

The candidate, who voted at Ward 4, said the alleged development affected about 10 local government areas, prompting the party to report the matter to the relevant authorities.

According to Salaam, the authorities were looking into the complaint as voting continued across the state.

He expressed concern over the situation, stressing that all political parties and their agents should be allowed to participate fully in the electoral process to ensure transparency and credibility.

The ADC candidate also dismissed allegations of vote buying involving his party, insisting that the ADC was relying on its campaign programmes and direct engagement with voters rather than financial inducements.

“We converse with the people, we let them know our programmes, and that is exactly what we do. Vote buying is out of it. I have never in my life bought votes,” Salaam said.

He maintained that voters should be allowed to freely determine who becomes the next governor of Osun State without intimidation, inducement or interference.

“People will decide whom they want, and I think it should be very fair enough for them to have the right to choose whom they prefer as a candidate or as the governor of the state,” he added.

Despite the concerns raised over the alleged non-recognition of ADC agents, Salaam expressed confidence in his chances of winning the governorship election.
