Nollywood actor, Hassan ‘Ogogo’ Taiwo battles stage 4 cancer, daughter seeks help

Nollywood actor Hassan Taiwo, popularly known as Ogogo, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, with his family seeking urgent medical assistance for the veteran actor.

The development was disclosed by one of his daughters, Kira Taiwo, in a viral video on Monday, where she appealed to Nigerians to help the family secure appropriate treatment for her father.

Kira clarified that the family was not seeking financial assistance but needed help finding a medical facility or specialist capable of treating the actor.

According to her, the hospital where Ogogo had been receiving treatment had stopped attending to him, while his condition had continued to deteriorate, with his stomach reportedly swollen.

She said the family was considering both conventional and alternative treatment options, including herbal medicine, provided it could help improve his condition.

Kira also revealed that Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State for the 2027 election, had been paying for Ogogo’s medical treatment.

However, efforts to take the actor abroad for further treatment have reportedly failed after doctors declared him unfit to travel outside the country.

Information accompanying the video described his condition as critical and appealed to medical specialists, hospitals, organisations and individuals who could provide assistance to come forward.

“His condition is said to be critical, with his stomach reportedly swollen.

“If you know of any specialist hospital, medical team, organisation, or individual who can assist, please come forward.

“Every help, prayer, and support matters.

“May God grant him healing and strength.”

Ogogo is a veteran Yoruba actor who has featured in several Nigerian movies.
