Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has opened up about being extremely protective of her daughter, Priscilla, revealing that her past experience as a rape survivor has influenced how she watches over her.

The actress explained that her overprotectiveness became particularly noticeable when Priscilla gained admission to university. According to Iyabo, her daughter once questioned whether she trusted her.

Iyabo said she would insist that Priscilla contacted her before leaving school and made sure she was accompanied by a staff member.

Explaining the reason behind her actions, Iyabo Ojo said her personal experience had shaped the way she approached her daughter’s safety.

The actress said, “I’m overprotective of my daughter, Priscilla. When she went to university, she asked, ‘Mum, don’t you trust me?’”

She further stated, “I make sure she calls me before leaving school and has a staff member with her.”

Iyabo added, “I never leave her with a man because I’m a rape survivor.”
