FULL LIST: 9 New Managers Taking Charge Of Premier League Clubs Ahead of 2026/27 Season

The Premier League will kick off the 2026/27 campaign with a record of nine clubs under new managerial leadership following Newcastle United’s appointment of Matthias Jaissle as head coach.

Jaissle’s arrival at St James’ Park marks the latest managerial change in England’s top flight after he replaced Eddie Howe, whose departure ended his spell with the Magpies.

The 38-year-old German joins Newcastle from Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli, where he enjoyed a successful tenure and guided the club to major honours.

His appointment means nine Premier League clubs will begin the new season with managers who were not in charge at the start of the previous campaign, the highest number of pre-season managerial changes in the competition’s history.

The unprecedented turnover highlights a summer of significant restructuring across the league, with almost half of the 20 Premier League clubs choosing to change their managers before the opening weekend.

Jaissle now faces the challenge of building on Newcastle’s recent progress as the club looks to compete strongly in the 2026/27 season under its new leadership.
