Troops Kill Boko Haram Media Operative, Terrorists Release Tribute Clip

Boko Haram has released a video tribute for one of its media operatives, Abu Salim al-Barnawi, who was killed by Nigerian troops during a failed attack on a military base in Borno State.
The Acting Media Information Officer of the Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, shared the video on Wednesday.
This comes after military troops reportedly killed several Boko Haram fighters, including their cameraman, during a firefight in the Lake Chad Basin area last week.
Goni said al-Barnawi was killed during the terrorist group’s attack on a Nigerian military camp. He described him as the group’s cameraman who had previously led raids into Cameroon before joining Boko Haram’s media wing.
The three-minute video shows al-Barnawi displaying communication equipment at various events before his death.
