Stakeholders to Launch Housing Matters Magazine at HMMG 2.0 Meet & Greet in Abuja

Stakeholders in Nigeria’s real estate sector are set to launch a new platform aimed at addressing property fraud, improving transparency, and tackling arbitrary price inflation in the housing market.

The initiative, known as Housing Matters Magazine (HMMG 2.0), is scheduled for official unveiling on June 13, 2026, during a high-level meet-and-greet event expected to bring together industry leaders, investors, developers, and key stakeholders in the housing sector.

Speaking ahead of the launch, co-organiser Elizabeth Ebere said the platform is designed to restore confidence in property transactions by ensuring that only verified and trusted vendors are featured.

According to her, strict due diligence processes have been put in place to screen all partners and property listings before they are published or promoted through the platform.

She explained that the initiative is also focused on making housing more accessible to Nigerians by promoting affordable listings, distressed property sales, and verified real estate opportunities targeted at middle- and low-income earners.

“The housing deficit is a global challenge and Nigeria is not left out. Through Housing Matters Magazine, we want to promote affordable housing, highlight the challenges preventing Nigerians from owning homes, and provide practical solutions that can help people achieve home ownership through proper planning and discipline,” she said.

Elizabeth Ebere added that the platform will also serve as a practical tool for simplifying property searches by connecting buyers directly with verified developers and agents, reducing risks associated with unregulated transactions.

Co-organiser Suleman Adamu said the platform will help address irregular pricing practices in the real estate sector, where property values are often inflated without clear justification.

He noted that some areas experience extreme price differences despite lacking infrastructure or developmental drivers, stressing the need for a more structured and transparent pricing system.

“There must be factors driving property prices such as infrastructure, accessibility, or commercial activity. Developers should not arbitrarily fix exorbitant prices without justification,” he said.

According to him, Housing Matters Magazine will help bridge the gap between buyers and credible developers while reducing the risks of fraud and misinformation in property transactions.

The platform is also expected to support infrastructure advocacy by identifying development gaps in emerging communities and engaging relevant authorities for intervention where necessary.

Stakeholders say the magazine will function as a one-stop hub for verified Abuja property listings, allowing users to confirm property details before making investment decisions.

They added that the platform is still in its early stage but is expected to evolve into a central reference point for real estate information in Nigeria.

The maiden edition of Housing Matters Magazine will be unveiled during the HMMG 2.0 Meet & Greet themed “Fostering Partnerships for Sustainable Housing Solutions.”

The event is designed to provide opportunities for networking with industry leaders, investors, and stakeholders, while showcasing innovative and sustainable housing solutions.

Participants will also gain valuable insights through panel discussions and talks, explore partnership and investment opportunities, and engage in a structured environment designed to strengthen collaboration within the housing sector.

Organisers say attendees will also enjoy entertainment, comedy, food, and drinks as part of the experience.

The meet-and-greet is scheduled to hold at Café One, Sterling Bank Plaza, Muhammadu Buhari Way, CBD, Abuja, on June 13, 2026, by 12 noon.
