According to the Jerusalem Post, a newly published report has revealed details of an underground bunker complex allegedly built for former Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei beneath central Tehran, including a blast-resistant shelter, multiple escape tunnels, and a five-story underground office facility for senior officials.

According to Iran International, which cited architectural plans obtained from an informed source, the underground complex known as Habib Ebrahimi was constructed adjacent to Khamenei’s official residence. The outlet said the authenticity of the documents “were also confirmed by a security source.”

The report states that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) began constructing the facility in 2009 after receiving Khamenei’s approval. The project was reportedly financed through the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters.
