UCL: ‘Couldn’t manage single dribble’ – Jesus Colino slams Lookman after Atleti’s defeat to Bayern

Spanish pundit and club insider Jesus Colino questioned the Nigerian forward’s contribution.
Bayern Munich secured all three points after scoring twice in the second half. Lennart Karl broke the deadlock in the 54th minute before Konrad Laimer added another goal in the 74th minute to seal a comfortable victory for the German champions.
Lookman was introduced in the 60th minute, replacing Alexander Sørloth, as Atletico manager Diego Simeone attempted to strengthen his team’s attacking options.
However, the Nigerian international struggled to influence proceedings after coming on. He managed just 20 touches and failed to record a shot on goal against the Bundesliga giants.
The performance was a departure from some of his previous contributions in the competition, having scored against Manchester United and provided an assist in Atletico’s draw with Stuttgart.
Colino was particularly unimpressed with Lookman’s display, suggesting that the former Atalanta attacker lacked the confidence and sharpness required to trouble Bayern’s defence.
In his player ratings for AS, he stated, “Lacking confidence, he couldn’t manage a single dribble and barely contributed in a few runs down the left.”
Despite the criticism surrounding his latest performance at club level, Lookman is expected to remain in contention for a place in Nigeria’s Super Eagles squad for their forthcoming 2026 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Tanzania.
