Obasanjo, Atiku responsible for closure of Nigerian industries – Oshiomhole

Edo North senator, Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday blamed former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for the closure of industries in Nigeria.
Oshiomhole said Obasanjo and Atiku’s administration was responsible for the closure of industries like Michelin and Dunlop, and turning Nigeria into an importing nation.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain made the claim during the APC presidential campaign rally in Ekiti State.
He urged the people of the state to vote for President Bola Tinubu in 2027, stressing that the current administration has approved a new minimum wage for workers.
According to Oshiomhole: “Atiku Abubakar as Vice President was crying on television that his government and his oga, Obasanjo, that they spent $16 billion on power. So you ask Atiku how many more US dollars do you need?
“I understand that Atiku is lamenting about unemployment, who closed down Nigerian industries? Who closed down Michelin? Who closed down Dunlop? Who reduced Nigeria to importer of everything from underwear to socks? It was done by the government and party which Atiku belonged to.”
