Finance Minister advising Tinubu wrongly – Primate Ayodele alleges

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Friday claimed that the Nigerian Finance Minister, Taiwo Oyedele, is wrongly advising President Bola Tinubu, especially regarding the economy.
In a statement signed by the prophet’s head of communications, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele said the recent borrowings being sought by Tinubu’s government are a result of wrong advice, which will eventually haunt the country.
The prophet stated that the more Tinubu borrows money, the slimmer his chances of victory in the upcoming election polls because Nigerians are angry and, despite the borrowings, the economy of the country continues to deteriorate.
Ayodele called on the government to make use of the country’s resources to create wealth instead of running to financial institutions to borrow funds at every given time.
He stated that the country is in serious debt while warning the CBN governor and the finance minister not to use tax revenue to make money for the country.
According to Primate Ayodele: “Tinubu should stop borrowing money; the more he does, the more he loses this election. Our mineral resources can be used to make money instead.
“The Minister of Finance and CBN governor have to do something, and they shouldn’t use tax to create money. Nigeria is in serious debt. We should use what we have to get money, but the government isn’t serious about it.”
He urged Tinubu to find a way to settle Nigeria’s debts rather than borrowing more money, further alleging that the advice of the finance minister is not working.
“Tinubu should find a way to settle the debt instead of borrowing more and focus on economic buoyancy. The Minister of Finance’s advice isn’t working; the policies he is advising the government on will not help Nigeria. The economy will burst if care isn’t taken, and things will continue to be costly,” he said.
