Failure to pay tithe does not cause misfortune – Pastor Dolapo Lawal

Lawal, while recounting an experience from his time as a pastor in Maryland, said he once tried to convince a woman that the challenges she was facing were not a consequence of her failure to pay tithes.
According to him, the woman maintained that whenever she failed to pay her tithe, she experienced financial difficulties.
The pastor questioned the notion that withholding money from the church could trigger misfortunes, citing the belief that household appliances, including washing machines, could break down because their owners had not paid their tithes.
Lawal urged Christians to change their perception of giving, stressing that God was not against them and that they should not attribute every misfortune or financial setback to unpaid tithes.
He added that abandoning such beliefs would bring an end to the fear and torment associated with the practice.
