Police allay fears over alleged withdrawal of security personnel from Benue community

The Benue State Police Command has dismissed as false a media report alleging the withdrawal of Mobile Police personnel from Ayilamo, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, saying the report has generated fear and concern among residents.
The report claimed that the personnel had withdrawn from the community with their belongings, including an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), raising concerns about the security situation in the area.
This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, DSP Orchia Aondogwu.
“The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Cletus C. N. Nwadiogbu, urges residents to remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear.
“He also advises members of the public to verify information before sharing it and to avoid circulating unconfirmed reports capable of causing unnecessary panic.”
Aondogwu said the command remained committed to its responsibility of maintaining law and order. He also urged residents to continue co-operating with security agencies by providing credible information to help safeguard their communities.
