“I’d prefer watching my kids die in front of me than have my husband die” — Woman

A woman has sparked reactions online after making an emotional statement about how she believes she would cope with the loss of a husband.
The woman, who said she is neither married nor a mother, admitted that she struggles to understand how some women manage to continue living after losing their husbands.
“I do not understand how women function after losing their husbands,” she said, adding that the thought of losing a husband was particularly difficult for her to imagine.
She went further to make a controversial comparison, saying, “I’d prefer watching my kids die in front of me than have my husband die.”
According to her, her husband would be the person she would least want to lose, stating, “Everyone else can go, just not him.”
The woman acknowledged that she currently has no husband or children and admitted that her perspective could theoretically change if she became a mother.
However, she said, “I’m not married nor do I have children, but I highly doubt I’d change my mind even if I had kids.”
Explaining the fear behind her statement, she appealed for divine protection from experiencing such a loss.
“May Allah protect me from such a fate,” she said, describing the mere thought of losing a husband as overwhelming.
“The thought alone paralyzes me. I’m not strong enough to endure that,” she added.
