Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and governors from Delta and Ondo states have thrown their support behind the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, led by its grand patron, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The First Lady inaugurated the national headquarters of the movement in Abuja on Friday, October 23, 2026, urging members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and convince Nigerians to support the President for a second term.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Tinubu described door-to-door campaigning as an effective way to engage citizens, listen to their concerns and explain the achievements and policies of the Tinubu administration.

She said the new headquarters would serve as a central point for coordinating campaign activities, developing ideas and spreading the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and message of shared prosperity across the country.

The First Lady commended Tompolo and other members of the movement for their commitment to grassroots political mobilisation.

She urged campaigners to engage Nigerians peacefully and respectfully, regardless of their political affiliations, stressing that every citizen deserved to be heard and valued.

According to her, the movement must win the hearts and votes of Nigerians by promoting hope, unity, peace, development and shared prosperity.

Mrs Tinubu also called on members to explain the government’s economic reforms and highlight emerging opportunities, particularly for young Nigerians seeking employment.

She said Nigeria was gradually moving from implementing reforms to realising their benefits, adding that campaigners needed to communicate the opportunities created by developments in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics and electric vehicles.

“Things are happening. Jobs are coming in. Investors are also coming in, in droves,” she said.

The First Lady expressed optimism about the administration’s chances in the 2027 election, saying she wanted a Nigeria where citizens would enjoy better infrastructure, efficient transportation and improved prosperity.

Akpabio Urges Members To Promote Renewed Hope Agenda

Also speaking at the inauguration, Senate President Godswill Akpabio described the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as an important platform for strengthening grassroots engagement, promoting national unity and mobilising support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Akpabio praised Tompolo and the movement’s national coordinator, Comrade Sunday Asuku, for establishing a campaign structure focused on promoting the President’s policies.

He disclosed that the movement had visited 14 states, with members already conducting door-to-door campaigns in states including Sokoto and Borno.

The Senate President urged members to go beyond asking Nigerians for votes by listening to their concerns, understanding their challenges and explaining the policies of the Tinubu administration.

“When you go from door to door, do not merely seek political support. Carry a message of the hope of the Renewed Hope of this President to them,” he said.

Akpabio defended the administration’s economic reforms, including the removal of petrol subsidies, efforts to stabilise the currency and tax reforms.

He argued that the measures were designed to reposition the Nigerian economy and improve the country’s long-term prospects.

He also urged members to promote national unity, warning against allowing ethnic, religious and political differences to divide Nigerians.

“Our diversity must never become our division. Our difficulties must never destroy our determination. And our politics must never become greater than our patriotism,” he said.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, also delivered a goodwill message, commending Tompolo for establishing the movement.

Tompolo Reaffirms Support For Tinubu’s Second Term

In his remarks, Tompolo reaffirmed his commitment to President Tinubu’s re-election, saying the movement had already taken its campaign message to 14 states and planned to extend its activities to the remaining states and the Federal Capital Territory.

He maintained that Tinubu deserved another term because of the difficult decisions taken by his administration to reposition the economy and improve governance.

Tompolo, who was represented at the event by the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Chief Kestin Pondi, described the inauguration of the Abuja headquarters by the First Lady as a significant milestone for the movement.

He said the office would strengthen the group’s efforts to take the Renewed Hope message to households, communities, wards, markets and places of worship across the country.

According to him, the movement would mobilise support not only for President Tinubu but also for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) nationwide.

Pondi stated that members had continued to engage citizens, listen to their concerns and explain why they believed Tinubu should be given another opportunity to lead the country.

He added that the movement intended to expand its grassroots campaign ahead of the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027.

He maintained that Nigeria was making progress and urged citizens to support the administration’s agenda.

Delta, Ondo Governors Declare Support

Governors Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State also expressed support for the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement and pledged to work towards Tinubu’s re-election.

Their endorsement adds to the growing political mobilisation by supporters of the President ahead of the 2027 general election.

The inauguration of the Abuja headquarters is expected to strengthen the movement’s coordination and expand its campaign activities as it seeks to mobilise voters across the country for Tinubu and other APC candidates.
