2026 Ballon d’Or: Voters reveal two top players to win award

The journalists who voted for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, have revealed the two players that could win the award.
Journalists from 100 countries submitted their votes for the winner.
The odds suggest it’s a race between Harry Kane (Bayern Munich/ England), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona/Spain), Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid/France), Rodri (Barcelona/Spain), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (PSG/Georgia) and Lionel Messi (Inter Miami/Argentina).
The journalists have signed an agreement with the organisers, France Football, not to reveal who they voted for.
But Cadena SER’s Héctor González interviewed a few of them off the record.
“When they’ve spoken with other colleagues who voted, the consensus is that Harry Kane is way ahead,” González said.
He added that Mbappe does not stand a chance as he did not win any silverware in the year under review.
“That’s what we’re told, because the Frenchman’s biggest flaw is that he hasn’t won any titles with Real Madrid or the French national team,” González added.
“Therefore, it seems we can rule Mbappe out of the Ballon d’Or race, and it all comes down to a head-to-head between Lamine Yamal and Harry Kane.”
