Zamfara Gov Distributes Official Vehicles To Higher Institutions

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has distributed brand-new official vehicles to higher institutions and public agencies across the state to improve administration, supervision and service delivery.

The vehicles were presented on Friday at the Government House in Gusau, the state capital.

According to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the beneficiaries include Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara, Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, and the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Gusau.

Other beneficiaries are the Teachers Service Board, Senior Secondary School Board, Quality Assurance, Zamfara College of Arts and Science (ZACAS) and other state government public institutions.

Governor Lawal said the vehicles were intended as institutional assets and operational tools to support official engagements, accreditation, supervision and other legitimate responsibilities.

He warned that the vehicles must not be treated as personal entitlements by public office holders.

“It is important to emphasise that these vehicles are not personal entitlements for any office holder. They remain the property of the Zamfara State Government and must be used responsibly and strictly for official purposes,” Lawal said.

The governor charged heads of the beneficiary institutions with ensuring proper custody, deployment, maintenance and documentation of the vehicles.

He said officials would be held accountable for misuse, unauthorised use or unnecessary deterioration of the government assets.

Lawal said the distribution was part of his administration’s broader investment in education and institutional support, adding that government expected the benefiting institutions to demonstrate responsible leadership, prudent management and improved academic and administrative performance.

He urged the institutions to ensure that the vehicles serve their students and the people of Zamfara State rather than individual interests.
