“Why did you compliment me?” — Man asks lady for number after she praises his perfume on BRT

A lady has recounted an awkward encounter with a man on a BRT bus after she complimented him on how good his perfume smelled.

According to the lady, she was seated beside the man when she noticed his fragrance and decided to compliment him.

She said she smiled and told him, “Sir, you smell so good. What fragrance are you wearing?”

The man reportedly thanked her and told her the name of the perfume, after which she simply responded, “Alright, cool.”

Lady declines to share number

The encounter reportedly took an unexpected turn while the BRT bus was still moving.

The lady said the man later asked for her name, and she introduced herself as “Dee”.

She said the man then told her, “I like you. Please give me your number.”

The woman said she declined the request, explaining that she did not want to give him her number.

According to her, the man became annoyed and questioned why she would compliment him if she was not interested in him.

The unexpected reaction reportedly made her uncomfortable, prompting her to change her seat despite there being several empty seats on the bus.

Lady sends message to men

Reflecting on the encounter, the lady questioned whether her compliment had been interpreted as an indication of romantic interest.

She ended her narration with a message to men, saying, “Dear men, not every woman who compliments you likes you. Take the compliment and keep moving.”
