“If I come to you to make love after our quarrel, that’s my apology” – Man shares controversial view on marriage

A Nigerian man has stirred reactions online after explaining why he believes making love after a quarrel can be a husband’s way of apologising to his wife.

Speaking an episode of FamilyClinic Podcast, the man urged married women to understand that some men may struggle to verbally apologise after a disagreement, noting that they may express remorse differently.

“As your husband now, if I offend you, there are times some men, they don’t really know how to say sorry. You need to understand your husband. That’s the truth.

If I’m coming to make love to you, that means I’m trying to make up with you. Let’s be realistic. Will I make up with my enemy? You’re my wife, and I know say me and you don quarrel. Some men, their love language is sex. Some men are like that,” he said.

He explained that some husbands may use physical affection and sweet words to show that they want to settle a disagreement, rather than directly saying “I’m sorry.”

The man further questioned whether a husband needs to make an elaborate gesture before his wife recognises that he is trying to make peace.

“If I come to you and I start touching you, and I start telling you sweet words, that’s the apology already. I don dey apologise be that.

Is it until I get Davido and carry live bands before you forgive? Because I mistakenly insult you doesn’t stop me from touching you,” he added.

His remarks have generated different reactions online, with some viewers agreeing that people have different ways of expressing love and remorse, while others maintained that verbal apologies are still important.

The discussion has highlighted the different ways couples communicate and attempt to resolve conflicts in marriage.
