The Allied Peoples Movement, APM, has officially flagged off its campaign ahead of Saturday’s by-election in Bauchi State, with Governor Bala Mohammed leading the party’s mobilisation across the affected constituencies.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has fixed September 19, 2026, for elections to fill vacancies in Sakwa Constituency of Zaki Local Government Area and Disina Constituency of Shira Local Government Area.

Governor Bala Mohammed led APM leaders to separate grand rallies in the two constituencies as the party intensified its campaign ahead of the poll.

Addressing supporters, the governor and other party leaders assured voters of the APM’s commitment to delivering what they described as meaningful development and improved welfare in the affected communities.

The campaign rallies also provided an opportunity for the party to canvass for votes and rally support for its candidates ahead of Saturday’s election.

With campaigns now in full swing, attention is turning to September 19, when voters in Zaki and Shira local government areas will elect representatives to fill the vacant seats.

The by-election is expected to test the strength of the competing parties and their ability to mobilise voters in the two constituencies.
