Real Madrid Beat Valencia 3-1 To Continue Liga F Campaign

Real Madrid Women secured a 3-1 victory over Valencia in Round 4 of the Liga F Moeve season at Ciudad Real Madrid.

Elisa Senß put the hosts ahead in the 26th minute before Felicia Schröder doubled the advantage five minutes later as Real Madrid took a 2-0 lead into the break.

Valencia pulled one back in the 69th minute through Danielle Marcano, whose header gave the visitors hope of a comeback.

However, Athenea del Castillo restored Real Madrid’s two-goal cushion in the fourth minute of added time to complete the victory.

Real Madrid dominated possession throughout the encounter, controlling 70 per cent of the ball and registering 16 shots compared with Valencia’s six.

Madrid established their dominance from the opening stages, finishing the first half with 79 per cent possession, seven shots to Valencia’s one.

They also recorded 48 entries into the final third compared with Valencia’s 17 and managed five shots from inside the area, while the visitors failed to register one.

Playing in a 4-3-3 formation against Valencia’s 5-4-1 setup, Real Madrid consistently found passing options through their full-backs and midfield.

Senß opened the scoring after combining with Lineth Beerensteyn before receiving the final pass and sending a low finish into the net.

Schröder then made it 2-0 in the 31st minute after Bella Andersson progressed forward and delivered a measured cross, which the forward met first time at the far post.

Real Madrid were caught offside three times in the first half as they repeatedly looked to exploit the space behind Valencia’s deep defensive line.

Although Marcano’s second-half header briefly reduced the deficit, Valencia could not sustain a comeback as Del Castillo struck late to seal another convincing win for the hosts.
