Rangers International have been rewarded for their progress in the CAF Champions League with a $10,000 (₦13.2 million) cash gift from the club’s General Manager, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku.
The cash reward followed Rangers’ dramatic victory over AS Soemape on Friday, which secured their passage to the next round of the CAF Champions League.
TVC News earlier reported that Rangers advanced after defeating the Togolese side 5-4 on penalties in Lomé.
The Nigerian champions held their nerve in the shootout to seal their place in the next stage after a hard-fought encounter.
In a trending video online, Ezeaku said, “Captain Come, I have here with me $10,000. And this $10,000 is for you guys. Congratulations.

“I want you to pay attention. We are a disciplined team.
We thank to our mummy, the Honorable Minister for Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency, Mrs. Bianca Ojuku. We love her and she knows.”
Ezeaku’s reward is intended to appreciate the team’s achievement and further motivate the players ahead of their challenging next assignment against MC Alger or Nigelec in October.
