Osimhen: NFF rejects Galatasaray’s request

The Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, has rejected Galatasaray’s request regarding striker, Victor Osimhen.
Galatasaray had requested the NFF to prevent Osimhen from playing Nigeria’s matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau later in the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifiers this month.
Nigeria will face Madagascar on 25 September and Guinea-Bissau on 29 September.
However, according to SCORENigeria, the NFF rejected the request, stating that they needed the former Napoli hitman for the crucial matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
This comes Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle called up Osimhen to the Nigerian national team squad for the AFCON qualifiers.
Osimhen is currently recovering from a groin injury, and he will miss Galatasaray’s match against Trabzonspor on Saturday.
