NSCDC arrests motorcycle syndicate kingpin in Nasarawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nasarawa State Command, has arrested a man identified as the alleged kingpin of a motorcycle syndicate operating in Lafia, the state capital.
The suspect, Salihu Ahmadu, popularly known as “Officer” or “Boss,” was arrested on September 8, 2026, at the Gandu area around the Federal University of Lafia, the NSCDC said.
The arrest was contained in a statement made available to our correspondent in Lafia on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations and Strategic Communications Officer, SC Jerry Victor.
According to the statement, Ahmadu had earlier been identified as the alleged kingpin of the syndicate during the parade of suspects arrested in connection with the case on August 14, 2026, but was then at large.
He said, “It would be recalled that during the parade of suspects by the Command on 14th August, 2026, in connection with the case of a suspected motorcycle syndicate operating within Lafia metropolis, Salihu Ahmadu, also known as Officer or Boss, was identified as the alleged kingpin who was then at large.
“Determined to bring all those connected with the syndicate to justice, the Command intensified its intelligence-led operations, which culminated in the successful arrest of the suspect on 8th September, 2026, at the Gandu area around the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA).”
Victor said the State Commandant, Brah Samson Umoru, commended the personnel involved in the operation for their commitment, vigilance and determination to ensure that suspects who evaded arrest were eventually brought to justice.
He assured residents of Nasarawa State that the command would continue to employ intelligence gathering, community partnership and proactive operations to identify and dismantle criminal networks operating in the state.
“Salihu Ahmadu will be taken before a court of competent jurisdiction to join his already arrested gang members for prosecution in accordance with the law.
“The Command therefore urges members of the public to continue to provide credible and timely information that can assist security agencies in preventing and combating criminal activities across the State” the statement added.
