The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, over an alleged case of child pornography in Onitsha, following intelligence linked to a disturbing video involving a minor.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on September 10, 2026, the Command said the arrest followed open-source intelligence concerning a trending video allegedly showing the suspect using sex toys on a minor.
The police said the operation also led to the rescue of four children aged two, three, six and nine, while sex toys and other items relevant to the investigation were recovered.
The suspect is currently in police custody as the Command intensifies its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and possible involvement of other persons.
The police also said the suspect’s husband was undergoing interrogation to determine whether he had any connection with the alleged offence.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, expressed concern over the alleged act and directed a thorough and professional investigation.
The police commissioner described the alleged offence as unacceptable, particularly because it involved the exploitation and abuse of children who are incapable of protecting themselves.
The Command said it was also prioritising the safety, dignity and wellbeing of the rescued children alongside the investigation and possible prosecution.
It said the children would receive appropriate care and protection in collaboration with relevant child-protection and support agencies.
The Command added that the children’s identities and privacy would be protected throughout the process, while ensuring they received counselling and other necessary support for their recovery.
The police commended vigilante operatives in the area, as well as bloggers and residents who provided information that assisted the investigation and led to the arrest of the suspect.
The Command urged members of the public to continue providing useful information to security agencies to help protect vulnerable persons and prevent abuse.
