NPFL: Sporting Lagos vs Ikorodu City postponed indefinitely

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday two fixture involving Sporting Lagos and Ikorodu City has been postponed, DAILY POST reports.

The encounter which was expected to take place on Sunday, 6 September, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, has been postponed to a later date.

According to reports, the match was postponed due to planned political events billed for the same venue.

The postponement is a setback for both teams who are looking to use the derby as an early test and momentum builder in the new season.

Sporting Lagos opened their top-flight return with a 2-0 loss to Doma United at the Pantami Stadium last weekend.

Ikorodu City on the other hand started the season on a bright note, defeating newcomers Ranchers Bees 3-1.
