A heavily loaded truck has caught fire along a stretch of road, prompting quick thinking from its driver, who managed to steer the burning vehicle to a safer spot before residents rushed in to help fight the flames.
Thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky as the fire took hold of the truck’s contents, though it remains unclear exactly what the vehicle had been transporting at the time.
What was evident from the footage was just how packed the truck had been, with sacks visible spilling from the cargo area as flames continued to spread through it.
As word of the fire spread, people from the surrounding area began converging on the scene, many arriving with whatever they could find to help contain the blaze.
Despite their combined efforts, the fire proved stubborn, showing little sign of dying down even as water was poured onto it repeatedly.
Footage from the scene shows a mix of civilians and what appear to be personnel working together near the burning vehicle, all attempting to bring the situation under control before it could escalate further or spread to nearby vegetation lining the roadside.
It remains unclear what ultimately caused the fire or whether the truck and its cargo were completely destroyed by the time the flames were finally put out.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident so far.
