Kebbi APC supporters stage solidarity walk for Tinubu, Idris

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress from Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo and Bunza Federal Constituency, on Sunday, staged a solidarity walk through Birnin Kebbi, reaffirming their support for the party and its candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The supporters marched through major streets of the metropolis before proceeding to the Kebbi State Government House, where they were received by Governor Nasir Idris, senior government officials and APC stakeholders.

Speaking during the visit, the APC candidate for the Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo and Bunza Federal Constituency, Bello Yakubu Relisco, said the rally was organised to demonstrate the people’s confidence in the APC and appreciate Governor Idris for his development initiatives across the constituency.

Relisco said, “This solidarity walk is a clear demonstration of the confidence our people have in the APC and in the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris.”

He commended the governor for what he described as the administration’s commitment to infrastructure and people-oriented projects across the constituency.

“We have seen tangible projects in our communities, and the people are not taking these interventions for granted. The impact is visible, and that is why our people have come out today to express their appreciation,” he said.

According to him, the projects being executed by the administration had strengthened the APC’s support base at the grassroots.

“We are not only here to appreciate the governor; we are also here to assure him that we will take the message of development to every ward, polling unit and community in our constituency,” Relisco added.

He pledged that APC supporters would sustain their grassroots mobilisation and campaign for all candidates of the party.

“We will work tirelessly for the success of all APC candidates, from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to our candidates at the state and federal levels. Our mobilisation will continue until victory is secured,” he assured the groups.

Responding, Governor Nasir Idris expressed appreciation for the large turnout, describing the walk as a strong indication of the people’s confidence in his administration and the APC.

“I am highly impressed by this show of solidarity. Your presence here today demonstrates that our people appreciate what the administration is doing and believe in the direction we are taking,” the governor said.

Idris promised the supporters that his administration would continue to prioritise projects and programmes that directly affect the lives of residents.

“Our responsibility is to serve the people, and we will continue to do so. We will not relent in providing infrastructure and implementing programmes that will improve the living conditions of our people,” he said.

The governor also declared that political distractions would not affect his administration’s development agenda.

“No amount of distraction will derail us from our people-centred development agenda. We will remain focused, committed and determined to deliver on our promises to the people of Kebbi State,” Idris said.

He thanked the supporters for their loyalty and urged them to maintain peace and unity as the elections approach.

“I appeal to you to remain united, peaceful and committed to the ideals of our great party. We must continue to mobilise responsibly and ensure that our campaigns are based on issues and the achievements of our administration,” he said.

Idris further urged the supporters to work for the success of APC candidates across all levels of government.

“Your support should not stop here. Take the message to your communities and ensure that our people understand what the APC administration has achieved and what we intend to do going forward,” he added.

The governor noted that the party’s strength depended on sustained engagement with the grassroots, adding that the administration would continue to listen to the concerns and aspirations of residents.

The delegation was received by a high-powered government and political team comprising the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa; Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida; Commissioner for Finance, Abubakar Ahmad Birnin Kebbi; Member representing Kalgo Constituency, Rilwanu Magarza; former House of Representatives member, Bashar Mutawalle; AG Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku; and Samaila Labbo Mabo, among other government officials, political leaders and APC stakeholders.
