“Is this how you will kpai like mumu?” — Isaac Fayose blasts Tinubu’s supporters over ₦1,500/litre fuel

Isaac Fayose has criticised supporters of President Bola Tinubu over the rising cost of petrol, comparing their reaction to the current price with the protests that followed fuel price increases under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Fayose made the remarks in a viral video while questioning why some Nigerians who previously criticised Jonathan over petrol prices are now defending Tinubu despite the higher cost of fuel.

He recalled that petrol sold for ₦98 under Jonathan and said some Nigerians protested at the time, accusing the former president of poor economic management.

“You bought fuel at 98 Naira, you came out to protest, you said Jonathan doesn’t have brain, that Jonathan does not know how to manage economy. Now you are buying the same fuel at 1,500 and you are calling the man, the current president, Tinubu, a builder. That means you are a fool.”

Fayose also raised concerns over alleged changes involving public gardens in Abuja, claiming that some were being converted and allegedly sold to individuals connected to those in power.

“They seized so many gardens in Abuja, they were converting it to their names. They were selling it to their cronies. Everybody will come out, they don collect this garden, they don collect this one,” he said.

He further criticised what he described as Nigerians’ silence over such developments, arguing that people should speak out when they believe government actions are wrong.

“But everybody will keep quiet the next day. Nobody is coming out to say, stop right there, you can’t do this to us. That mean say you be mumu.”

Fayose ended the video by questioning whether Nigerians would continue to remain silent despite the economic challenges and other issues he raised.

“And you know how mumu dey kpai, they kpai with their stupidity. Is this how you go kpai with mumu?”
