“If you know what’s good, you have to vote right” — Timaya

Nigerian singer Timaya has urged Nigerians to be deliberate about their choices at the polls, warning that the consequences of their decisions could mean another four years of hardship.
Speaking on the state of the country, the singer said Nigerians should not focus solely on immediate personal benefits when making political choices.
“Nobody dey advise anybody. If na wetin you dey find to chop now put for your pocket, na your business. No be one day o. Na another 4 years of hardship. If you know what’s good, you have to vote right.”
Timaya also said his travels abroad had exposed him to the way some wealthy Nigerians and politicians live outside the country, claiming that some politicians have their families abroad while they continue to govern Nigeria.
“I dey travel abroad dey see wetin dey happen na. Rich people dey abroad dey no dey stay for Nigeria, these politicians. Dey just dey work for Nigeria.”
The singer questioned how politicians could fully understand the realities faced by Nigerians if their families and personal lives are largely based abroad.
“Their families don’t stay here. So how you expect them to think right? They’re all selfish, even the ones that’re just coming and promising us they’ll be better.”
Timaya also expressed concern about the possibility of Nigerians experiencing further hardship under future administrations, calling on voters to consider the broader consequences of their choices.
“God take any Politician wey go make Nigerians cry again.”
His comments come amid ongoing public discussions about governance, living conditions and the choices Nigerians may face in the next election cycle.
