A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after revealing the amount she expects a man to earn before she would consider dating him.

Speaking in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that she could not date a man earning ₦1 million or even ₦500,000 monthly, insisting that she needs a partner who earns at least ₦10 million.

In her words, she said:

“I can’t date a man that earns just ₦1 million a month, even ₦500k. At least ₦10 million I can manage. How much will he be giving me if he’s making lower than that? At least he should be able to give me ₦500k as my monthly allowance for upkeep.

The only thing I can bring to the table is myself. Whenever he wants to have sex, I’m available. If you want me, he has to give me what will make me stay. Why would you expect me to bring money to the table? I’m not there to feed the man.”

The lady’s remarks have generated reactions online, with social media users debating her expectations and views about financial responsibilities in relationships.

One user wrote, “So the only thing you bring to the table is sex? This generation is something else.” Another user wrote, “At least she’s honest about what she wants.”

The comments have continued to fuel discussions about money, dating standards and what partners should contribute to a relationship.
