“He converted Naira to Pounds for 2 years & flew to UK to babysit”

A Nigerian male nurse has shared the story of a husband who reportedly sponsored his wife’s Master’s degree in Nursing in the United Kingdom (UK) and supported her throughout her studies.

The nurse, identified as @Nursebassey_ on X, formerly Twitter, highlighted the sacrifices the man made to help his wife further her education and build her nursing career.

‘He Sponsored Her Master’s in Nursing’

The male nurse revealed that he came across a Nigerian registered nurse who spoke about how her husband sponsored her Master’s degree in Nursing in the UK.

“I saw a Nigerian registered nurse talking about how her husband sponsored her Master’s in Nursing in the UK,” he wrote.

He explained that the husband spent two years converting naira to pounds to support his wife’s education.

“For two years, this man was converting naira to pounds without complaining,” he stated.

‘He Travelled From Nigeria to the UK’

The nurse further revealed that the husband travelled from Nigeria to the UK to help care for their children while his wife was undergoing clinical placement.

“He even travelled from Nigeria to the UK to help his wife take care of the kids while she was on clinical placement,” he wrote.

The support reportedly continued throughout the woman’s studies until she qualified as a registered nurse.

‘Today, She’s a Registered Nurse’

According to @Nursebassey_, the woman has now become a registered nurse and is publicly appreciating her husband for the support he gave her.

“Today, she’s a registered nurse and proudly giving her husband his flowers,” he stated.

The male nurse reflected on the story, noting that positive marriage experiences may receive less attention online than troubled relationships.

“Omo many marriages are actually thriving. Na the bad ones dey get the most PR,” he wrote.
