Gunmen Kill 13, Injure Others in Fresh Attacks Across Plateau » Apples Bite Int’l Magazine

At least 13 people have been killed and several others injured in separate attacks on communities in Plateau State.

The attacks occurred on Sunday night in Jos South, Mangu and Riyom Local Government Areas of the state.

Nine of the victims were passengers travelling to Jos when suspected terrorists reportedly opened fire on their vehicle at Dungus community in Jos South Local Government Area.

The incident occurred at about 9:40 p.m., according to Rwang Tengwong, spokesman of the Berom Youth Moulders (BYM).

Tengwong said the victims were travelling to Jos when the attackers attacked their vehicle.

He disclosed that a member of Operation Rainbow was among those killed in the incident, describing the attack as a tragic development.

Some of the passengers who sustained gunshot wounds were taken to hospitals for treatment. However, some reportedly died while receiving medical attention.

A resident, Musa Dauda, confirmed the attack, saying some injured passengers were still receiving treatment in hospital.

In a separate attack in Mangu Local Government Area, suspected terrorists reportedly invaded Vodni community in Pushit District during the night and killed two people.

Four other residents sustained gunshot injuries and were taken to a hospital in Mangu town for treatment.

Similarly, two people were reportedly killed in another attack at Tahoos in Riyom Local Government Area around the same period.

Efforts to obtain further information from security authorities were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
