Gunmen attack Edo ADC Chairman’s residence, cart away vehicles, cash, phones

Suspected armed robbers have reportedly invaded the residence of the Edo State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Kennedy Odion and made away with some valuable properties.

DAILY POST reports that the Edo State Police Command disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen by its Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem.

Ikoedem said the incident happened on September 6, 2026, at about 3:00 am, off Winners Road, Uhie, Benin City.

She said the items reportedly carted away by the hoodlums included four mobile phones, N500,000 cash, two Toyota Highlander vehicles and other valuables.

She said the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Command, Patrick Daaor had personally visited the scene and directed an immediate, comprehensive investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

Ikoedem added that the case had been taken over by the Violent Crime Response Unit, VCRU, while detectives had processed the scene and commenced investigation.

She said the Command reiterated its commitment to intelligence-led, proactive and collaborative policing and assured residents of Edo State that every available resource would continue to be deployed towards protecting lives and property and bringing criminal elements to justice.
