Gov Abiodun Sets Up APC Reconciliation Committee In Ijebu-Ode

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has directed the immediate establishment of a reconciliation committee to address grievances arising from the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.

Abiodun disclosed this in a post via social media, on Tuesday, September 22, following a meeting with APC leaders, executives and other stakeholders in the local government.

The governor said the engagement was part of efforts to strengthen the party and promote unity among its members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“At the meeting, we directed the immediate establishment of a reconciliation committee, headed by Chief Olu Okuboyejo, with our former Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga, state commissioners and other stakeholders as members,” Abiodun said.

According to him, the committee would engage party members who remain dissatisfied with the outcome of the recent primaries and provide an avenue for their concerns to be addressed.

He said the committee would “reach out to members who may still be aggrieved following our recent party primaries, listen to their concerns and ensure that everyone is fully carried along.”

Abiodun also directed that the reconciliation exercise be taken to the ward level to strengthen grassroots participation within the party.

“With 161 polling units in Ijebu-Ode, we emphasised the importance of grassroots mobilisation, unity and inclusiveness as we continue to strengthen our party ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.

The governor thanked APC leaders and members in Ijebu-Ode for what he described as their continued support and commitment to the party.

“We appreciate our leaders and members in Ijebu-Ode for their steadfast support and commitment to our progressive family,” Abiodun added.
