EPL: What Tosin Adarabioyo told John Terry about Chelsea boss, Xabi Alonso

Chelsea icon, John Terry has revealed that Tosin Adarabioyo was left “gutted” after learning that he was not part of Xabi Alonso’s plans at Chelsea.
Tosin joined Chelsea two years ago on a free transfer from Fulham, subsequently making 70 appearances across all competitions for the Blues.
However, the 28-year-old found himself on the fringes during Chelsea’s pre-season under Alonso and was excluded from the matchday squad for the Spaniard’s first three competitive fixtures.
The signing of Maxence Lacroix and the emergence of Josh Acheampong resulted in Tosin dropping down the hierarchy, leading to him becoming available for transfer in the closing days of the window.
On deadline day, Tosin made the short journey across London, signing a permanent deal with rivals Tottenham for approximately £7 million.
In north London, he will be joined by Mykhailo Mudryk, who has moved to Spurs on a season-long loan.
However, former Chelsea captain, Terry said that the defender was “disappointed” by the sudden end to his stay at Chelsea.
Terry told GBFC: “I spoke with Tosin recently and asked him, ‘What did the manager say?’ He replied, ‘I’m just not in his plans.’
“He [Tosin] said, ‘I fully respect it. I’d love to prove him wrong here, but I’ve been informed that I need to find another club, and I’m gutted because I’ve only been here a couple of years.’
“Tosin is clearly disappointed by this situation, but the manager is very straightforward, being honest with the players and leaving no ambiguity whatsoever.”
