By-election: Kano CP commends residents for peaceful conduct

The Kano State Police Command has commended the people of Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area for their peaceful conduct and cooperation with security agencies during the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency by-election on Saturday.
The commendation was contained in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna, a copy of which was made available to The PUNCH on Saturday.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, made the commendation while monitoring the ongoing Dawakin Kudu State Constituency by-election across various polling units in the LGA on Saturday.
“The Kano State Police Commissioner, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commends people of Dawakin Kudu LGA for their peaceful conduct and cooperation with security agencies during the ongoing Dawakin Kudu Constituency by-election,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the police commissioner, in the company of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC Kano State, Amb. Zango Abdu, and other members of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security, Kano State chapter, jointly monitored the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency by-election across various polling units in Dawakin Kudu LGA of the state.
“The delegation assessed the level of deployment of security personnel, the conduct of INEC officials, and voters’ compliance with electoral guidelines to ensure a peaceful, credible, and hitch-free process.
“As of the time of this report, the electoral process is proceeding smoothly, with voters turning out in an orderly manner and security operatives maintaining neutrality and professionalism across all polling locations,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC Kano State, commended the security agencies, particularly the Kano State Police Command and other ICCES members, for their synergy, professionalism, and proactive measures in ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the conduct of the election.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order and assured that security personnel would remain on the ground until the collation and announcement of results were concluded.
