2027: Jigawa Youths Rally Support For Tinubu, Namadi

Thousands of youths on Sunday took to the streets of Hadejia, Jigawa State, to express support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rally, described by organisers as a “one-million-man march”, was organised by supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of Engr. Ibrahim Ahmad.

The participants marched through major streets of Hadejia, waving APC flags and carrying posters, banners and billboards in support of Tinubu and Namadi.

The organisers said the mobilisation was part of efforts to secure more than two million votes for President Tinubu in Jigawa State in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the movement in Hadejia Zone, Salihu Atafi, said the group was supporting the Tinubu administration because of what it described as progress in security, education, agriculture and economic reforms.

He said the removal of fuel subsidy had caused hardship for Nigerians but argued that the policy would yield long-term benefits for the economy.

Atafi also commended the Students Loan Scheme, saying it had provided an opportunity for more Nigerian students to pursue higher education.

At the state level, he cited Governor Namadi’s 12-point development agenda, particularly in agriculture, healthcare, education, housing and security.

According to him, the state government has procured more than 400 tractors and 60 combine harvesters, alongside other agricultural equipment, for distribution across the state.

He also listed the construction and renovation of healthcare facilities, the development of an oxygen plant in Dutse and plans for a new general hospital in Kafin Hausa among projects being implemented by the administration.

On education, Atafi said the state government had invested in school enrolment, tackling out-of-school children and integrating the Almajiri system into formal education.

He urged Jigawa residents to support Tinubu and Namadi in 2027, saying their continued leadership would improve living conditions and strengthen economic development.

The march comes amid increased political mobilisation across the country ahead of the 2027 elections, with supporters of various political parties beginning to organise and build support ahead of the polls.
