Young Nigerian innovators are increasingly turning to technology to tackle challenges in agriculture and develop solutions for the future of farming.

Through the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) and its Technology Incubation Centres (TICs), innovators have access to technical support, mentorship, facilities and opportunities to develop agricultural ideas into practical solutions.

One example is Shamsuddeen Jibril, whose agricultural drone innovation was recognised as a winner at the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2025.

The initiative highlights the growing role of technology in improving agricultural practices while creating opportunities for young Nigerians to contribute to the sector.

NBTI, through its incubation centres, is supporting innovators from the idea stage through to the development of technologies capable of addressing real-world agricultural challenges.

The agency said the growing interest in agricultural technology demonstrates the potential of innovation to reshape farming and contribute to Nigeria’s agricultural development.
