US Firm Says ‘No Cover-Up’ Over Alleged Drug-Trafficking Records Involving Tinubu

A US-based policy advisory and lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, has said there will be no cover-up concerning records linked to allegations of drug trafficking involving Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement shared on X, the firm accused the administration of former US President Joe Biden of using the Department of Justice (DOJ) to oppose the release of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) records relating to the allegations.

The firm said it believes the DOJ under President Donald Trump would take a different approach and would not protect anyone alleged to have been involved in heroin trafficking.

It also praised President Trump, US Attorney Jeanine Pirro, members of the Trump administration, and lawmakers whom it said had supported the release of the records.

The development follows a decision by US District Judge Beryl Howell, who reportedly granted Pirro an additional four days to release records relating to the allegations against Tinubu.

The claims involve allegations contained in US records and remain politically and legally contested. The report does not establish that Tinubu committed drug trafficking or any related offence.
