President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said the ongoing reforms at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) are aimed at positioning the company for a future full listing on the Nigerian Exchange.

Speaking during a meeting with officials of the Nigerian Exchange Group and members of his economic team, the President said the reforms would go beyond restructuring parts of the company to transforming it into a fully listed enterprise.

“The expansion is for all. I could look back and look at Aramco and others and see all the oil-producing of Saudi Arabia.

“We can refine and do NNPC reform to the extent that one day the totality of it, not just the arms and legs, the totality of it will be listed on the Exchange.”

Tinubu commended the National Revenue Service, members of his economic team and other stakeholders for their contributions to ongoing economic reforms.

“Thank you all to the Revenue Service and many other people in the team for what we are doing. I assure you that I won’t stop reading, I won’t stop thinking, I won’t stop supporting you. I’m here. Thank you very much.”
