Shina Peller Declares Bid for Oyo North Senate Seat in 2027

Former member of the House of Representatives, Shina Peller, has declared his intention to contest the Oyo North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general election.

Peller made his declaration on Thursday in a post on X, announcing that he would contest the election under the platform of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM).

The former lawmaker said his decision was driven by a renewed commitment to public service and his desire to contribute his experience and capacity to the development of the district.

“I am pleased to formally announce my intention to contest for Senate, representing the people of the Oyo North Senatorial District in the 2027 elections under the platform of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM),” he said.

Peller, who represented the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives between 2019 and 2023, said the new political move marked “A New Chapter of Service.”

He had previously sought the Oyo North senatorial seat in the 2023 election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, Peller lost the APC senatorial primary to Abdulfatai Buhari, who subsequently secured the party’s ticket and won the election.
