Reject Vote Buying, Embrace Nat’l Responsibility Ahead of 2027 Election – Cleric

The Founder of The New Seraph Evangelical Ministries Worldwide and Iya Aladura General, Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye, has urged Nigerians to remain committed to peace, integrity and responsible citizenship, calling on eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and reject vote-buying ahead of future elections.

Speaking during a press conference in Lagos on Thursday to announce the eighth edition of the Night of Divine Experience (NODE 8.0), Yomi-Sholoye said Nigeria is at a critical point in its history and requires both divine intervention and collective responsibility from its citizens.

According to her, while the country continues to face economic, social and security challenges, Nigerians must not abandon their civic responsibilities but should actively contribute to nation-building through lawful conduct, prayers and informed electoral choices.

The Cleric said, “At a time like this in our national journey, when our country continues to navigate economic, social, and security challenges, the need for divine intervention, unity, and collective responsibility cannot be overemphasised.”

She acknowledged ongoing efforts by the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to strengthen the country’s security architecture and the expansion of the Nigeria Armed Forces.

She expressed optimism that the initiatives would help curb banditry, noting that the development will strengthen the response time to threats, particularly against worship centres.

Yomi-Sholoye said, “We recognise ongoing efforts by the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the strengthening and expansion of the Armed Forces divisions aimed at improving response time and enhancing national security.

“We believe that such strategic measures will contribute significantly to reducing threats such as banditry, violent attacks, and invasions of worship centres, thereby restoring confidence and safety across communities.”

The cleric urged Nigerians to vote for leaders based on competence, character and capacity rather than financial inducements, warning that the nation’s future should never be sacrificed for temporary benefits.

She also called on political aspirants to conduct issue-based campaigns driven by accountability, vision and service to the people.

“The season of empty promises is over. Show us your works. Be instruments of breakthrough. Use your influence to bless the nation, not just yourselves. Unite for Nigeria. Give our youths a future to believe in,” she said.

Yomi-Sholoye added that the church would continue to serve as a moral voice by praying for the nation while speaking the truth on issues affecting society.

She described righteousness, justice and unity as essential ingredients for Nigeria’s progress, expressing confidence that the country would experience peace, prosperity and supernatural breakthrough.

The cleric unveiled the 2026 edition of the Night of Divine Experience (NODE 8.0), themed “Supernatural Breakthrough,” scheduled to hold from August 12 to 14 at The New Seraph Prayer City, Ode Remo, Ogun State.

According to her, the three-day event will feature continuous prayer sessions, Bible teachings, seminars, youth and family programmes, worship, prophetic ministrations, healing and deliverance services, culminating in an all-night grand finale on August 14.
